It's been at least 2 years since I kayaked using my single kayak.
The last time I did it with my 2-person kayak was at the same place with Tamae and Tora.
We just move to Redwood City which is just 18 minutes away by car.
Kayak was a bit stiff but was finally able to get it together.
Having not done it in a while I limited myself to a 45 paddle.
Forgot to track it on my GPS and forgot water.

Trip #52: Heron's Head south
I was planning a short paddle to re-try the rudder I bought with the kayak.
I remember it not going well the first time(s), but could not remember why.
It is definitely a pain to set up. In the end I got it working properly but it would have been better had I set the peddles higher or closer to my feet. I had to really stretch my legs to push the peddle enough to turn the kayak.

Trip #51: Elkhorn Slough
I had read about Elkhorn Slough as a great kayaking place years back and for some reason I never got down there till today.
Regret.
This is a great place to kayak!
To start with it has very calm waters and so is a good place to take beginners.
More importantly, it has more sea otters then I have have seen anywhere else and that includes zoos. They were everywhere!
On top of that there were plenty of harbor seals, pelicans, cormorants, and other wildlife.
I am going back soon!

Trip #50: Heron's Head
Went on my first solo kayak in a damn long time.
Beautiful day.
Went past one of the docks from which one of the competing yachts in today's America's Cup will be leaving.

Trip #48: Foster City Canals
Went on a short, 1.5 hour paddle in the Foster City canals.
Beautiful weather.
Should try to fit Tora in the middle of the 2-person kayak.

Trip #47: Muir Beach
I was planning to kayak from Muir Beach to Stinson Beach and back.
But, when I got out of the cove, the swells were a bit too much for my taste.
This was the first time in quite a while that I kayaked in the open ocean.
Luckily, I had no trouble getting in and out of the water.
Since I did not like the swells I spent an hour or so paddling around the cove.
